- Lilly sells its Greenfield, Indiana, operations to Covance Eli Lilly and Company announced that Covance will buy and operate Lilly's Greenfield Laboratories located in Greenfield, Indiana. In addition, Lilly is finalizing plans to lease a new worldwide headquarters for its animal health division, Elanco, in Hancock County, Indiana.

- Lipitor 80 mg reduced the risk of heart attack and stroke in patients Pfizer announced that, in patients with heart disease, type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease, Lipitor(R) (atorvastatin calcium) 80 mg significantly reduced the risk of major cardiovascular events, including heart attack and stroke, by 35 percent compared with Lipitor 10 mg.
